This Law regulates the rights and obligations of state administration bodies, as well as the rights and duties of legal and natural persons in relation to environmental noise management and environmental noise protection, among rules on implementation of limit values. The objectives of this Law are: creating healthy conditions for human life and protection of the environment from noise; taking measures and activities to avoid, prevent or reduce noise; taking measures for protection from noise that is imposed in close environments and which causes discomfort and harassment; elimination or reduction of harmful effects that are a consequence of noise exposure in environmental areas; providing a basis for developing measures aimed to reduce the noise emitted by the large sources, in particular road, rail and water transport and infrastructure, aircraft, equipment used outdoors and in industry, as well as mobile mechanical devices for work. Chapter XIII prescribes the penalty measures and sanctions.
