Failure of a Member State to fulfil obligations of Directives 92/43/EEC and 2009/147/EC. Poland amended the forest management plan and increased the volume of harvestable timber. This has an significant effect on natural habitats of wild flora and fauna in the Natura 2000 site ‘Puszcza Białowieska’.The Court declared that the Republic of Poland has failed in conducting appropriate assessment of the adverse effects on the integrity of the site in particular as breeding site and nesting place of protected species.
