This Act imposes the requirement of a licence or a permit for activities that may harm any mammal which is morphologically adapted to the marine environment. It also prohibits the hunting for and taking or harassing of marine mammals for purposes other than stated in this Act (generally scientific and preservation purposes) and regulates the operation of captive marine mammal facilities.
