The Government of Lebanon (GoL) signed the Stockholm Convention (SC) on May 22, 2001; it came into force on May 17, 2004. With grant funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF)/UNEP, Lebanon is one of 12 countries participating in a pilot project for the “Development of National Implementation Plans for the Management of POPs.”
