Foreword The Government of Zimbabwe is committed to protecting its people and environment from the harmful effects of hazardous chemicals such as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). It has demonstrated this commitment by signing and ratifying the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, and making significant strides towards implementing the requirements of the Convention. Zimbabwe produced its first National Implementation Plan for the Stockholm Convention in 2013, and that initial NIP mainly focussed on the 12 POPs that were initially listed in the Convention.
