This Ministerial Decree, implementing provisions of the articles 18.6 first paragraph, and 18.7 of the Environmental Act, provides for appointing supervisors responsible for ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Act. The Decree designates responsible supervisors and authorities according to the duties and competencies of each Ministry involved in the implementation of the provisions of the Environmental Act. Particularly, the Decree appoints: supervisors for monitoring railway and transport activities covered by an environmental permit; supervisors and experts for water level decisions and for monitoring activities in or near water management works managed by the government, and discharge activities on a surface water body managed by the government; supervisors for activities in the North Sea; experts for regional water management; supervisors for activities in the Port of Amsterdam and of Rotterdam. The Decree empowers the appointed supervisors to entry and inspect houses and premises, taking the necessary equipments in case of activities related to hazardous substances.
