This Regulation lays down detailed provisions related to the implementation of organic farming rules. In particular the application form and evidence of eligibility in the procedure for authorizing control bodies is here defined, the content, form and method of keeping the List of control bodies, including all necessary procedures to be respected between participants.
Rules of this text are aimed at providing control and procedural issues for carrying out control of organic production, and of its deriving products, among control reports, catalog of corrective measures, keeping of the database of varieties of seed or seed potatoes or vegetative reproductive material available on the market, further setting out deadlines and forms for the submission of such data, and also providing the appearance of the national eco-label.
This text also grants the effective implementation of measures contained in the following European Union documents: Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 of 28 June 2007 on the organic production and labeling of organic products and repealing Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91; Commission Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008 of 8 December 2008 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 as regards the arrangements for imports of organic products from third countries; and Commission Regulation (EC) No 889/2008 of 5 September 2008 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 on organic production and labeling of organic products with regard to organic production, labeling and control.
