The accused captured and detained a chimpanzee considered a wild animal, fully protected without a scientific permit. The accused admitted that he had detained a baby chimpanzee to be sold to a woman. He has been arrested by the Agents of Water and Forests and the Commissariat. There is no evidence that he captured the animal. But detaining the chimpanzee without authorization is already a violation of the law. He was therefore sentenced.
