The present Act amends 66 points of the Water Law as the result of implementation of the Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy. In particular, this Act lays down that management of water is based on returning costs of water services, including environmental costs and resource costs (point 1). The Act defines also transitional waters and coastal waters (point 4).
