The purpose of the present Ordinance is to transpose into the Hessen law the Council Directive 97/11/EC amending Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment of 3 March 1997. In particular, the Law lays down provisions relating to the evaluation of adverse effects on the environment of public and private projects.
