This Act provides for the protection of public forests and public protected forest areas, the classification of forest lands, and the trade in forest products.
The Act is divided into 10 Parts and three Schedule: Preliminary (1); Administration and Functions (2); Classification and Reservation of State Forests and Timber Reserves (3); State Plantation Forest (3A); Management of State Forests, Timber Reserves and Forest Entitlement Areas (4); Control and Disposal of Forest Products and Quarry Material (6); Quarry Material in Deed of Grant or Freeholding Lease (6a); Natural Resource Products (6b); Plantation Forestry (6D); Registration of Interests in State Plantation Forests (6E); Fires on State forests, timber reserves and forest entitlement areas (7); Miscellaneous (8); Savings and Transitional Provisions for Primary Industries and Natural Resources (9); Other transitional provisions (10).
