With a view to implementing at national level Directive 2001/105/EC, there are hereby laid down particular amendments to Legislative Decree No. 314 of 3 August 1998. The provisions concern the rules and standards to be applied for ship inspection and survey organizations as well as for the relevant activities of maritime administrations. In particular, article 3 regards the recognition of organisms or entities wishing to obtain the authorization necessary to perform inspections on ships. The aforementioned authorization is further dealt with by article 4.
