China welcomes the draft “The Guidance on alternatives to perfluorooctane sulfonate and its derivatives” (UNEP/POPS/POPRC.6/13/Add.3, hereinafter referred as ‘the Guidance’) endorsed by the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC) at its sixth meeting. Such a document is very important for prompting the phase out of perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), its salts and perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride (PFOSF) according to the Stockholm Convention. We thank the POPRC and the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention for the great efforts they have made.
