This Chapter provides for collecting and publishing statistics of raw peanuts, shelled, unshelled, and crushed, and peanut oil, in the United States, received, processed, shipped, and owned by or in the possession of warehousemen, brokers, cleaners, shellers, dealers, growers' cooperative associations, crushers, salters, manufacturers of peanut products, and owners other than the original producers of peanuts. Data and statistics are collected and treated, in order to show the quality of peanuts varieties. According to the Chapter, it is the duty of the warehousemen, dealers and producers to furnish reports, complete and correct to the best of their knowledge, on the quantity and quality of peanuts. The Chapter concerns: standards and grades for classification; penalties in case of misleading information or misdemeanour; limitation on the use of statistical information; cooperation with governmental departments and agencies.
