This Act creates a framework for the state designation of energy parks in Denmark in order to promote onshore electricity production from renewable energy sources, especially wind turbines and solar PV installations, while taking account of other land-use interests. It allows the Minister for Cities and Rural Areas, with municipal consent, to designate areas as energy parks where they are expected to generate at least 100 GWh annually, or where associated facilities such as power-to-X plants are linked to offshore wind infrastructure. The Act sets rules on public consultation, municipal and regional involvement, planning exceptions, state takeover of certain planning/environmental/cultural heritage powers, information duties, and amendments to planning, nature protection, forestry, raw materials and museum legislation to facilitate implementation.
This Act does not apply to the Faroe Islands or Greenland.
