The amendments require the Ministry of Energy to identify sites and set equipment standards for renewable power plants within two weeks, prioritizing domestic supply. The Ministry of Industry will streamline imports for up to 1,000 MW capacity, while authorities like the Central Bank and Customs will facilitate financing and clearance. They also aim to make renewable investments economically viable and enable the use of transmission lines for selling or exporting electricity up to network capacity. The Ministry of Energy must develop a program to improve thermal power plant efficiency using saved fuel and submit it to the Economic Council for approval. Additionally, it must establish a regulatory framework for renewable electricity production, while a coordination task force will be formed to address implementation challenges.
