This Act provides for amendment and revision of certain provisions regarding The California Water Plan, in order to require the department to expand the membership of the advisory committee to include, among others, tribes, labor, and environmental justice interests. The Act focuses on: reliable supply of water for urban, agricultural, and environmental uses that is resilient to climate change; protection of ecosystem and fisheries; agricultural impacts on water use; improvement of water quality standards; development of a comprehensive, strategic plan for the sustainable management and stewardship of California’s water resources; development of new water storage facilities, water conservation, groundwater recharge, water recycling, desalination, conjunctive use, conveyance, stormwater capture, water transfers, and demand management activities.
