This Act provides for the use of recycled water, and specifies that water discharged during storm events is not to be considered an unauthorised discharge if recycled water was used to restore levels due to evaporation. The Act establishes: statewide criteria for recycled water uses; penalties in case of unauthorised discharge of water. Amendments of specified sections of Water Code include: use of water from any source of quality suitable for potable domestic use, non potable and for irrigation purposes; use of potable domestic water for toilet and urinal flushing in structures is considered a waste or an unreasonable use of water.
