This Act, comprising 5 sections, amends the original text as follows (i) Section 2 by inserting new definitions for the Engineering Institution of Zambia, the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, and the Zambia Institute of Planners; (ii) Section 11(1) by replacing the provision on the composition of the Board of the Agency. The new Board includes representatives from the ministries responsible for environment and mines, the Attorney-General, two civil society representatives engaged in environmental management, the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Engineering Institution of Zambia, the Zambia Institute of Planners, and one private sector representative with relevant expertise. The amendment also introduces requirements for the nomination of representatives by the relevant institutions, ministries, and organisations for ministerial appointment; (iii) the First Schedule by replacing its heading with “Administration of the Agency” to align it with the revised provisions of the Act; (iv) Paragraph 1(4) of the First Schedule by reducing the number of members required under the relevant provision from six to five.
