This Act, consisting of 51 articles, divided into nine Parts, provides for the disclosure of information held by public bodies and for related matters. The Act concerns right to access information; the disclosure of information; the role of public bodies; procedure for requesting information; communication of information and related fees; measures to promote openness and good practices; public bodies’ duty to publish key information on certain topics; exceptions including: commercial and confidential information, personal information, health and medical files, information related to law enforcement, security, sustainable development, environmental protection, financial interests; appointment of commissioners and specification of their functions; whistle-blowers role, in case of corruption and other misconducts; criminal responsibility.
