This Act establishes the Manitoba Development Corporation as a body corporate that amalgamates the following entities: the Economic Innovation and Technology Council, and the Manitoba Trade and Investment Corporation. The Act details the following objects of the Corporation: fostering economic development and investment in Manitoba; promoting the diversification of economic activity in Manitoba; encouraging the development of export markets for Manitoba businesses; promoting and assisting Manitoba businesses in strengthening business opportunities; supporting innovation and the development and commercialisation of technology; administering as agent of the government any matter, programme or project assigned to the corporation by the Lieutenant Governor in Council. The Act concerns: board and staff of the Corporation; use the service of employees of the government or government agencies; financial matters and annual report.
