This Notification, issued by the Director of Veterinary Services under article 8(c)(v) of the Animal Health Law of 2001, imposes, within the framework of the action plan to prevent the spread of the foot-and-mouth disease virus, the following prohibitions throughout the territory of the Republic of Cyprus: the movement of cloven-hoofed animals to and from farms, the movement of all types of animal feed and medicines to and from farms, the grazing of animals, the movement of equipment and people to and from farms, and visits to farms for recreational, educational or non-animal care purposes. According to the Notification, after obtaining a permit, the following activities are permitted: the movement of cloven-hoofed animals from farms to slaughterhouses, the movement of all types of animal feed from points of entry to approved suppliers and from approved suppliers to farms, the movement of medicines from approved suppliers to farms, and the transport of water for watering animals.
