This Notification lays down minimum coverage amounts for mandatory financial liability insurance for marine pollution in coastal facilities. This insurance covers material damage, cleaning costs, the transportation and disposal of waste, medical expenses, permanent disability, and death. The businesses that are required to obtain this insurance include: refineries, ports and stations where petroleum and petroleum products are loaded or unloaded, filling facilities, storage facilities, gas terminals, power plants, industrial production facilities, ports and piers where loading or unloading takes place, terminals, shipyards, ship dismantling facilities, other facilities where ship construction and repair are carried out, and coastal facilities that carry out the same or similar activities, even if they have different names, and which fall within the scope of Law No. 5312.
