This Order approves an emergency plan establishing the measures to be applied in Georgia in the event of an outbreak of Newcastle disease in poultry. The plan sets out the framework for coordinated action by the competent authorities, including detection, notification, laboratory diagnosis, epidemiological investigation, and supervision of affected holdings, as well as the obligations for reporting suspected and confirmed cases.
It regulates the measures to be implemented in cases of suspicion and confirmation, including isolation of birds, restrictions on movement of poultry and related products, sampling and laboratory testing, and the application of biosecurity procedures. In confirmed outbreaks, it provides for the establishment of quarantine zones, culling of affected flocks, destruction of contaminated materials, cleaning and disinfection of premises, and monitoring of defined protection and control zones, together with rules on vaccination, traceability, and lifting of restrictions.
