This Regulation prescribes various requirements that must be met by natural mineral, natural spring and table waters when used, treated and placed on the market, including the recognition procedure to be carried out before the placing of natural mineral and natural spring water on the market and the procedure for approving the application of permitted technological procedures for the treatment of natural mineral and natural spring water on the territory of the Republic of Croatia.
This text closely sets out the physical, chemical, physico-chemical and sensory properties and composition of such human consumption (potable) water; microbiological criteria; technological and processing procedures that are allowed; properties of analytical tests and additional labelling requirements.
The Annex is also part of this publication (Annexes 1-10; list of technical requirements; list of substances; list of specific maximum permitted concentrations; and administrative forms and application sheets).
This Regulation ensures the implementation of following European Union documents: Directive 2009/54/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 on the exploitation and marketing of natural mineral waters; and Commission Directive 2003/40/EC of 16 May 2003 establishing the list, concentration limits and labelling requirements for the constituents of natural mineral waters and the conditions for using ozone-enriched air for the treatment of natural mineral waters and spring waters.
