Location of Permanent Secretariat

The Conference of the Parties

1. Takes note of the comparison table of the offers of locations for a permanent secretariat of the Carpathian Convention prepared by the Secretariat using the Criteria for selection of the Carpathian Convention Permanent Secretariat location;
2. Recalls that the resolution of the Conference of Plenipotentiaries for the adoption and signatures of the Carpathian Convention stipulates that the Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention will be located in the Carpathian region;
3. Expresses its gratitude to UNEP for providing the Secretariat to the Carpathian Convention through its office in Vienna and requests it to continue to provide these services;
4. Decides to review the issue of the Secretariat location and relevant requirements at its 5^th meeting of the COP if consensus has been reached.
