Decision SC-12/1, adopted by the Conference of the Parties in 2025, among other things, requested the Secretariat, subject to the availability of resources, to undertake awareness-raising activities to improve Parties’ understanding of the procedures for registering specific exemptions and acceptable purposes, notifying other exemptions, and the implications of failure to register for exemptions.
