The Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure (PIC) for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in International Trade entered into force on 24 February 2004. The purpose of the PIC Circular is to provide all Parties, through their designated national authorities, with the information required in Articles 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13 and 14 of the Convention. The PIC Circular is published in 3 languages (EN, FR and SP) every six months, in June and December and communicated with the Designated National Authorities. Designated national authorities are requested to review the information related to their countries and communicate any inconsistencies, errors or omissions to the Secretariat.
