Of the 11 Parties that have not submitted the initial national implementation plans (NIPs) of the Stockholm Convention, 7 countries are from the Arabic speaking countries (Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, State of Palestine). In addition to this Oman, Qatar, and Yemen and other countries have not updated the initial NIPs. Among these countries, Oman has requested the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention to provide technical assistance in reviewing and updating their NIP.
