This Act lays down provisions a view to protect the climate and the environment: (a) promote the use of renewable energy sources, secondary sources, high-efficiency combined heat and power generation, biomethane and decentralized production of electricity; (b) ensure that increasing the share of renewables in primary energy resources to achieve the objectives specified in the Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources and amending and subsequently repealing Directives 2001/77/EC and 2003/30/EC; (c) contribute to the economical use of natural resources and sustainable development of society; (d) create conditions to fulfill a binding target for the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption in the Czech Republic.
