This Act, consisting of 32 sections divided into five Parts and completed by two Schedules, provides for activities relating to the mandatory use of biofuel and licensing of activities relating to production, storage and trade and prescribes the type of biofuel and its percentage by volume to be blended in any fuel. The Act is divided as follows: Preliminary (I); Minimum biofuel requirements (II); Compliance (III): Enforcement (IV); and Miscellaneous (V).
The Act sets out procedures and requirements to apply for a licence and deals with the provisions relating to revocation or suspension of licences.
The Act further provides for: powers relating to enforcement, investigation, seizure, arrest, etc.; offences; regulation making powers of the Minister; etc.
