This Regulation sets out detailed rules governing the control, monitoring, surveillance and restrictions on movements of animals in and from restricted zones, with a view to preventing the outbreak and spread of bluetongue. These provisions specify the methods for notifying the outbreaks of the disease and the epidemiological information to be transmitted by Member States. The movement restrictions laid down in this Regulation apply to animal ova and embryos too.
