The present Ordinance enacts the Genetic Technology Act of 20 June 1990 (BGBl. I p. 2066). The Ordinance lays down provisions relating to safety procedures in genetic technology facilities including hazardous areas. The text consists of 22 articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Principles and implementation of safety classes (II); Safety measures (III); Project manager (IV); Responsible for biological safety (V); Penalties (VI); Final provisions (VII). Six Annexes are enclosed.
