This Order applies to non-living animals used for production (with the exception of non-living aquaculture, poultry and fur animals that are sent directly to pelting centers) and sets regulations on transportation and specific facilities for their storage. Registration thereof shall be notified to the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Central Livestock Register (CHR) by assigning an identification number with info on provenience, owner and data of the non-living animal(s). Dead ruminants from which sampled material for TSEs testing (Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies) shall not be stored in freezers or in containers in the freezers. To prevent spread of infections, the storage facilities must be located in an adequate distance from public roads, buildings and land populated by livestock. Collection for transportation of non-living animals stored in refrigerators or storage spaces must be registered as soon as possible and within 24 hours after death. However, registration for pickup of animals kept in refrigerators may await until the storage system is filled within 6 weeks after storage in refrigerators have begun to a maximum of 3 months thereof.
