The present Ordinance implements the Waste Management Act 2002 (BGBl. II No. 102/2002) and the European Parliament and Council Directive 94/62/EC on packaging and packaging waste of 31 December 1994. In particular, the purpose of the present Ordinance is to establish a clear differentiation between household packaging and commercial packaging to avoid distortions of competition between the parties required to collect and recycle packaging. The text consists of 7 articles.
