This Regulation hereby determines: the exact amount of fees and charges aimed to cover/finance the costs of official controls carried out in establishments dealing with food of animal origin, animal feed and animal by-products; the method of calculation and payment of these fees and charges; many necessary terms (rules and other administrative provisions) such as the frequency of official controls; and various measures such as the terms ante-mortem examination (examination of animals for slaughter in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EC) No 854/2004 laying down specific rules for the organization of official controls on products of animal origin intended for human consumption).
