This Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is composed of 25 articles and three Annexes, establishes measures and procedures to prevent or reduce as far as possible any adverse effects on the environment, in particular water, air, soil, fauna, flora, cultural heritage and landscape, and any risks to human health, brought about as a result of the management of waste from the extractive industries. These provisions cover the management of waste resulting from the prospecting, extraction, treatment and storage of mineral resources and the working of quarries. Annex 1 lays down the concept of prevention from environmental disasters.
