These Regulations provide for the implementation of provisions of the Shipping Act with respect to registration and marking of Tongan vessels, the registration and execution of maritime liens and the registration of mortgages.
These Regulations shall apply to all vessels required to be registered under section 8 of the Act. The Act prescribes documents that are required for registration and details of the vessel and owner that shall be recorded in the Register. Registration shall be made by an approved person in the meaning of the Act. The Regulations also provide for the recording of change in name of a ship or change in ownership of a ship.
These Regulations provide for the implementation of provisions of the Shipping Act with respect to registration and marking of Tongan vessels, the registration and execution of maritime liens and the registration of mortgages.
