The NIP as a policy document is meant to be dynamic so as to accommodate new interventions such as SAICM to the emerging global environmental concerns, requiring similar approaches. Consequently, synergies are being promoted among related Conventions and their implementation and among international processes on chemicals and waste management so as to realize multiple benefits, such as maximizing use of resources, sharing of knowledge and experience and integrated capacity building.
