Environmental Governance
Definition(s)
A committee established by the Conference of the Parties, which performs a variety of functions within the policy agreed to by the Conference. It is responsible for providing policy guidance to the Secretariat concerning the implementation of the Convention and for overseeing the management of the Secretariat's budget. It coordinates and oversees, where required, the work of other committees and working groups; and carries out tasks given to it by the Conference of the Parties and drafts resolutions for consideration by the Conference (i.e. CITES).
