This Regulation determines the contents of the Serbian Long-term programme of measures for the implementation of the breeding programme in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2020-2024.
The Programme shall determine the scope and types of measures for large ruminants, small ruminants, equidae, pigs, poultry, beekeeping and aquaculture, including issues on the financing of such livestock production measures.
This text sets the following objectives: 1) higher share of livestock, measured by the number of conditional heads per unit area, production of meat, milk, eggs, wool, honey and of other livestock products per hectare; 2) in the field of livestock production, higher concentration of the number of livestock per each breeder, development of the farming type of production, through which the available land areas and plant production (that are in the function of livestock development) will be rationally used; 3) increase of productivity per in the production of milk, meat, eggs, wool, as well as the quality of these products, as well as other livestock products; 4) application of new methods and procedures in the preparation of feed for domestic animals and reduction of consumption of feed for domestic animals per unit of product; 5) regionalization of production in accordance with the structure of land, land use and the needs of certain species of domestic animals, and in accordance with the principles of the European Union.
