The Act aims to establish a framework for the protection of surface and groundwater and for planning within the international nature protection areas. The Minister of Environment and Food shall regulate provisions for the international water districts and for each of them, there must be a water level. Each river district shall have a protection area in order to allow shellfish (bivalve and snails molluscs) life and growth. The Environment and Food Minister designates international nature conservation areas on land and at sea.
CONSOLIDATION: Act No. 1715 of 27 December 2016 contains the following entry into force and transitional provisions: Art. 24 - The Act comes into force on 1 February 2017. Art. 24, section 2 (removed). Art. 24, Sect. 3 - The Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs may lay down transitional regulations, after consultations with the Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark. Art. 24, sect. 4 (repealed). Art. 24, sect, 5 - Provisions laid out under previous regulations shall remain in force until repealed or replaced by regulations established in this Act. Non-complaince to these will be punished inadherence to current provisions. Art. 24, sect. 6 - Pending appeals in the Nature and Environment Appeals Board shall be processed and settled by the Board under the provisions of this Act. This does not apply to pending appeals must be handled and determined by the Plannning Appeals Board as laid out in its art. 1. Art. 24, sect. 7 (repealed).
