This Act amends the Marine Resources Act, 2006 in respect of a wide variety of matters including: application sphere of the Act; artisanal fishing; establishment of committees or bodies for the purpose of providing technical assistance or other advice; assistance of the Fisheries Officer in the formulation of Falekaupule fishery management and development plan; issuing of permits and terms and conditions of permits; transhipment and other activities related to fisheries; penalties; and surveillance and enforcement.
