The Order sets rules on the production of infant food formulae and the supplement mixtures as replacement of breastfeeding milk. The production of infant supplement food must follow standard requirements with regard to the composition of such commodities prior to their sale. European producers, EU importers or those responsible for the infant formula's first marketing in Denmark must submit an example of the label used to the Food Administration prior to production and sale in the country. Penalty for non-compliance can reach up to two years of imprisonment.
The Order consists of 8 Chapters and 7 Appendices: Definitions (1); Marketing (2); Requirements for composition (3); Sales indications and labeling (4); Marketing and advertising (5); Notification of infant formulas (6); Exports to countries outside the EU (7); Penalty and entry into force (8).

Appendix 4 - Nutrition and health claims for infant formulas and conditions for their production.
Appendix 5 - Essential and semi-essential amino acids in breastmilk.
Appendix 6 - Specification of protein content, source in the processing stage used in the manufacturing of infant formulas and supplement formulas with a protein content of less than 0.56 g/100 kJ (2,25 g/100 kcal) manufactured from hydrolysates of whey protein deriving from cow's milk protein.
Appendix 7 - Reference values in use on nutrition declarations of infants and young children food.
