The present Ordinance provides for the enactment of, inter alia, the Federal Wine Act in its version of 16 May 2001 (BGBl. I p. 985) and the Wine Ordinance in its consolidated version of 28. August 1998 (BGBl. I S. 2609, 2001 S. 983). In particular, article 1 specifies the competent authorities responsible for the implementation of wine provisions in Saxony. The text, consisting of 21 articles, deals with the following aspects delimitation of vine cultivation area in Saxony, committee of experts, establishment of a reserve on planting rights, crop insurance, authorized grape varieties, production of quality wine, quality control, geographical indications, awards, accountability, accompanying documents, collection of fees for the German Wine Fund and penalties. Five Annexes are enclosed.
