This session will outline how the Minamata Convention addresses the releases of mercury to land and water (Article 9), including the guidance on release inventory adopted at COP-4 and guidance on best available techniques and best environmental practices (BAT/BEP) adopted at COP-5. The session is organized in cooperation with the Global Mercury Partnership. Experts will deliver technical presentations on mercury releases from coal combustion and non-ferrous metal production.
