This Montenegrin Program of phytosanitary measures for the year 2024 establishes measures for: performing tasks of public interest for plant health protection; seed material of agricultural plants; planting material; plant protection products; sustainable use of plant protection products; plant nutrition products; GMOs; plant genetic resources; laboratory testing; task holders and the manner of performing tasks with a plan for the use of financial resources and conditions for the implementation of measures established by related national legislation. The basic objective of this text is to ensure a stable plant health status on the territory of Montenegro, prevention of introduction, timely detection, suppression of the occurrence and spread and eradication of harmful organisms of plants, plant products and objects under supervision, timely, correct, successful and rational implementation of phytosanitary measures in practice, prevention or reduction of yield losses in plant production and creation of preconditions for preserving plant health as a key factor for sustainable and competitive agriculture, but also environmental protection in relation to the effects of plant production sector.
