The Act on Subsidies for Substitute Schemes in Agriculture establishes the legal basis for public financial support to farm-related associations that provide temporary worker (substitute) services to their members. These associations must consist solely of owners or tenants of agricultural holdings and must offer substitute labor to their members in cases such as illness, a child’s first sick day, participation in continuing education, or during holidays. The law allows the Minister for Agriculture to provide subsidies to cover wages, travel allowances, and training costs for the substitute workers.
The act authorizes the minister to set rules for subsidy calculation and eligibility, including prioritization criteria (e.g., short-term illness, specific education-related absences), membership requirements, organizational structure, and financial reporting. It includes provisions for revoking or recovering subsidies if false information is provided or requirements are no longer met. The law also permits delegation of decision-making to the Agricultural Directorate and establishes an advisory committee to support its implementation. The act applies only in Denmark and explicitly excludes the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

The Ministry of Agriculture shall issue rules regarding the amount and conditions of granting of financial support. The financial support shall be granted to a kind of mutual aid associations.
