“修正”一词是指对影响到某项协定所有缔约方的条约条款作出正式修改。这种修改必须用与最初形成条约时所采用的相同手续进行。许多多边条约规定了修正案获得通过需要满足的具体要求。在没有此类规定的情况下，修正案需要得到所有缔约方的同意。（来源：1969年《维也纳条约法公约》第四十条）。
