The Act provides for amendments in the Decentralization Act [CAP 230] with regard to References to Chairperson or Deputy Chairperson; prescribing the terms and conditions of office for councillors, including the President and the Vice President; grounds for terminating a councillor's position; requirements for contesting election to Parliament; and filling vacancies by the the Electoral Commission.
